Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Nottingham and Loughborough

Welcome To Anne Etherton Acupuncture

For an experienced traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist and herbal practitioner in the Loughborough and Nottingham area call Anne Etherton.

My name is Anne Etherton and I am a qualified practitioner in acupuncture, Chinese herbs and traditional Chinese medicine. By offering acupuncture, acupressure and Chinese herbal treatments, I can help improve your general health and well-being, treat pain and rebalance the mind, body and spirit.

I have two practices, one in Sutton Bonington, near Loughborough, and the other in Beeston, Nottingham.

I qualified with a Master of Science in acupuncture in 1999 and am fully insured and registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), adhering to their strict codes of safe practice, ethics and professional conduct. The BAcC is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I gained a Diploma in Chinese herbal medicine in 2014 and am now a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM).

I have done various continuous professional development postgraduate courses in Japanese acupuncture, Korean hand and auricular therapy, reproductive acupuncture, Dr Tan’s balance method and Chinese dietary therapy. I practice Tai Chi and Qi Gong regularly. I am qualified in Reiki Seichem to level 3.

Improve your health and well-being

Traditional Chinese acupuncture aims to treat the whole person rather than specific symptoms in isolation, so can be effective for a wide range of conditions. I always treat holistically, not just the named condition, to optimise my patient’s health and well-being.

There are many conditions that acupuncture can be used for, a few well researched examples are:

  • Dental pain
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Tension-type headaches
  • Chronic lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Temporomandibular pain
  • Overactive bladder
  • Osteoarthritis knee pain

Mind, body and spirit

Acupuncture is part of the Chinese medicine system, a medical system in its own right that has been practiced for thousands of years. It can be helpful for treating the mind, body and spirit.

There are five main branches; acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, exercise such as tai chi and qi gong, and dietary advice which may be used to improve the health of the individual.

The World Health Organisation in 2003 recognised the effectiveness of Acupuncture for treating a wide range of conditions. The list is available on the British Acupuncture Council website here and further fact sheets here.
