At this difficult time take some time out to practice some Qi Gong to strengthen your Lung Wei Qi which is the Chinese medicine way of saying strengthen your immune system. A ‘virus’ in Chinese medicine is referred to as an “invasion of Wind”. Once the Wind enters the body which often it co-locates with Damp or Cold it will block the circulation of Qi which causes coughing, sneezing and mucous production. The stuck Qi can also cause Heat to be produced causing fever. Qi gong is also very relaxing so can help anxiety.
I have teamed up with my Tai Chi teacher Tony Henrys of East Midlands Tai Chi (see https://www.midlandstaichi.co.uk) who has suggested that the Shanghai Nei Yuan Gong (Shanghai Hospital Qigong exercise 1) is a great way to strengthen your Lung Qi. Qi gong is also very relaxing so can also help anxiety.

Other helpful things to boost your immune system are to keep your Vitamin C1 up whether by eating plenty of vegetables, fresh fruit especially citrus, blackcurrant or with a supplement. Have some extra Zinc2 preferably by using Zinc lozenges but a Zinc supplement otherwise. Also, Vitamin D33 is helpful. You can get this by sitting in the sun for about 15 minutes a day, but your skin will need to see the sun not be covered and no sun cream applied, or again you can take a supplement.
Let’s keep mind, body and spirit healthy during the lockdown, keep safe all.
